Dear colleagues and scholars from abroad,

The 59ᵗʰ Korean Society of Hypertension Scientific Meeting in Conjunction with Hypertension Seoul 2023 will be held in Seoul from 3ʳᵈ to 4ᵗʰ November, 2023. The theme of this year’s symposium is “Blood Pressure Management and Perspectives for Centenarian Era”.

Getting over the 2-year period of COVID-19 pandemic, we almost recover the previous format of our domestic scientific meeting. With rapid increase in the elderly and extremely elderly hypertension patients, the management of the elderly hypertension will be another challenges. Recent important randomized clinical trials are related directly or indirectly with the blood pressure management of the elderly. Protection of the cognitive function and prevention of heart failure are now regarded as the important purposes of blood pressure control in the elderly.

In these regards, in Hypertension Seoul 2023, we will have the plenary lecture delivered by the representative author of the 2023 European Society of Hypertension guidelines. A special lecture provisionally titled as “Altered Brain Connectivity in Patients With Hypertension” will be delivered by prof. Giuseppe Lembo from Italy. An interesting talk about heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in human versus giraffe will be delivered via online by Dr. Natterson-Horowitz from the United States to highlight the heart failure in the elderly and celebrating giraffe, the first mascot of Korean Society of Hypertension. A session for innovative technology of blood pressure measurement devices will be held to cover auscultatory automatic device and cuffless monitoring device.

Korean Society Hypertension welcomes the young hypertension researchers and clinician to Hypertension Seoul 2023, providing the travel grant for the presenter of the qualified poster abstracts. Oral abstract session will be open for domestic researchers and young investigators.

Hypertension Seoul 2023 will be the reflection of our heartfelt passion for scientific activity, communication, and friendship among hypertension researchers in the world. Please join us and experience our scientific meeting together with the Korean Society of Hypertension and you will experience the vivid face-to-face meetings and scientific communications.
